This is a neat tip for Leopard users: hover over a word and hit Control•Command•D. A tiny contextual menu will pop up with the dictionary definition of the word. Move the cursor around, and each word you hit will be defined in that window. It's a nice shortcut if you are reading a web page and a word you are unfamiliar with comes up. Rather than launching the Dictionary application, or doing a Google search, just Command•Control•D the word to get its meaning.
There are a couple of limitations: the application has to be programmed to access the same database the Dictionary application uses, and the word obviously needs to be in the Dictionary.
